Her story
One seamstress.A craft made by hand.
Twenty-five years at the sewing machine, one client at a time.

The hands
Yolanda Chauca has worked at the sewing machine for more than twenty-five years. Yolanda Design is her atelier: a quiet, second-floor studio in the Northeast Business Center on Buford Highway, where she measures, cuts, pins and finishes every piece herself.

In their words
“She does magic with her hands.”
A disappearing craft
It is a way of working that is becoming rare. Fewer people learn to build a garment by hand each year, and fewer still will give the hours a wedding gown or a quinceañera dress asks for. Yolanda does, one client at a time.
